Housing Development Board (HDB) is Singapore’s public housing authority. It plans and develops housing towns in order to provide a quality home and good living condition to Singaporeans. Over the years, HDB has been trying hard to ensure cost-effectiveness while meeting quality standards. HDB has also started building executive condominiums (EC), studio apartments to cater to the different needs of the nation.
Thanks to HDB, 80% of Singaporean population now have a home to stay. About 90% of these households own their flat. HDB has become a national pride. Community is an important trait of HDB. Besides residential space, HDB also has community space where people can mingle and interact. This helps to strengthen family ties and at the same time, promote racial harmony and multicultural identity.
